Staffordshire town, 5 miles SE of Wolverhampton.

Industrial town in the West Midlands, formerly in the county of Staffordshire. Famous for its manufacture of railway rolling stock and metal working, especially for the motor industry.

The poet and novelist Henry Treece (1911-1966) was born and grew-up in the town, attending Wednesbury High School before winning a scholarship to Birmingham University.
