Shropshire Regimental Museum Shrewsbury The Regimental Museum is housed in the medieval border fortress of Shrewsbury Castle. Its displays tell the story of the County's military units from 1755 to around 1970. SJ495125

The Welsh Guards Regimental Museum Oswestry The Welsh Guards Museum is housed alongside the 'Park Hall Experience' to the north east of Oswestry. Industrial development

Ironbridge Gorge Museums Ironbridge, Telford The Ironbridge Gorge Museums are a collection of sites spread across the Gorge covering a variety of topics centred on the historical industries of the area. See Exploring industrialisation on this site for related historical background. SJ667032

Daniels Mill Bridgnorth The mill has been owned by the same family for over 200 years and has been loving restored to a fully working condition. The 38ft iron waterwheel is still used to produce wholemeal flour, which visitors can purchase. SO725905

Bog Visitor Centre Stiperstones The centre is in the heart of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and provides a wealth of information to visitors about its mining history, its people, and the current work to restore the surrounding landscape. Severn Valley Railway Bridgnorth The Severn Valley Railway is a full-size standard-gauge line running regular steam-hauled passenger trains for the benefit of tourists and enthusiasts alike between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire. Telford Steam Railway Telford Telford Steam Railway is a preserved railway operated by a small and friendly team of volunteers on Sundays and Bank Holidays from Easter to the end of September, and at Christmas. Also large layouts of model railways. SJ671071

Acton Scott Historic Working Farm Church Stretton Acton Scott is one of Britain's leading working farm museums. The story of writing
Literary Shropshire Whole of Shropshire Shropshire is rich in literary connections, with many famous sons and daughters finding inspiration in its rural settings and industrial past. The locations within Shropshire, and their literary connections, are described on the site's many pages.  
Darwin Country Shrewsbury The historic town centre of Shrewsbury is within a loop of the River Severn. Shrewsbury is well-known for its historic buildings including Norman castle, medieval abbey, timber-framed tudor buildings, fine churches and museums. Other places of interest
Shropshire Hills Shuttles Various Shuttle bus services run across the Shropshire Hills and other areas of Shropshire e.g. Much Wenlock, Bishop's Castle, Ironbridge, Church Stretton and others. An excellent way to see the County.  
Park Hall - The countryside experience Oswestry Park Hall Farm - The Countryside Experience is a 130 acre Victorian farm that has been restored as a visitor attraction. See Park Hall Camp on this site for related historical background. SJ307313

Coleham Pumping Station Shrewsbury The Pumping Station, resembling a Victorian Chapel in style, was built in 1900 to house two massive steam-driven beam engines. The beam engines were built by Renshaws of Stoke to pump sewage as part of Shrewsbury's new sewerage system. The coal-fired pumps were used until 1970.
