What can you see?

Introduction

The aim of this section is to get people walking out into the area to identify aircraft crash sites using information from this website and by using maps. Before you go out, use the information you have gathered from this site and other sources to pinpoint the location of some of the sites on the local map (Ordnance Survey Landranger 126 or Ordnance Survey Explorer 240). It may be very useful to take with you a compass and a pair of binoculars. When going out on these walks, it is important to remember some key points relating to aircraft archaeology and also please respect all private land and remember the Country Code.

There are two walks outlined here:

  • Old Oswestry Hill Fort (Opens in a new window). This walk gets you up higher than the surrounding countryside providing a good viewing point.
  • Selattyn Hill (Opens in a new window). This walk is circular and has good viewing points on the route.
