Parish Apprenticeship Indenture for Ann Lea, aged 12, a "poor child of the Parish", dated 1805. As was customary, she was required to serve her apprenticeship until she was 21 years old.

On the reverse of the above document we find details of a £10 fine received from the Reverend Willings for not taking the "within named apprentice", namely Ann Lea. April 5th, 1805.

An Apprenticeship Indenture for Joseph Eccleston, 1829. His mother, Sarah Eccleston, a widow from Frankwell in Shrewsbury, consents to "put" Joseph apprentice to William Lee, a cabinet maker in Frankwell for a period of seven years. As the document below reveals, Joseph didn't complete his apprenticeship.

A complaint relating to the above apprenticeship indenture. The Justices of the Peace have released Joseph Eccleston from his apprenticeship with the cabinet maker, William Lee because he "hath misused and ill-treated the said Apprentice, and particularly by frequently beating him in a cruel manner." 17th November, 1830.
