1. IntroductionThis theme show cases examples of some of the sources that are supplied in a Shropshire Archives Focus Pack. All of the sources were included in a recently produced Focus Pack on Edgmond, near Newport. What is a Focus Pack?Focus Packs are ideal for Primary Schools doing a local study. Designed as a teachers' resource and for classroom use with Key Stage 1 and 2 children, the Focus Packs contain copies of a wide range of primary and secondary source material for any Shropshire town/village and can be used across the National Curriculum. What does it contain?Primary sources include Ordnance Survey, county and field-name maps; census returns; parish registers; directories; school returns; photographs; sale particulars; newspapers. Focus Packs can be adapted for use by Secondary Schools/Colleges too. How can a Focus Pack be ordered?Order forms for Focus Packs are available from Shropshire Archives or via our website also from Shropshire School Library Service, Shropshire Libraries and Telford & Wrekin Libraries. Additional information:Packs take up to 20 working days to supply, but longer when demand is high. Please order well in advance, if possible.
