Miss Hamer spent a number of months at Florence House, Baschurch. What follows are her memories and recollections of that time.

Flora's memories of physiotherapy:

Well I remember sometimes when we had our plasters off, we were carried into this room and sat on the old wooden table we had what we called wrenching also massage. I know it used to hurt a bit.

Christmas time at the Baschurch Home:

There was a big xmas tree, and we all had a jolly good time, with lots of toys.

Flora's description of the food and kitchen staff:

...very nice, we had porridge every morning and we all liked it. Then we had Bacon, eggs etc.
...there was one girl there, by the name of "Ida" or something similar she used to wave to us, and she was always singing, and we learnt a lot of songs from her.
