Worksheet: Old map, new map

Instructions

Look at the two pictures of maps your teacher has given you. Using different coloured pens or types of shading, highlight wherever you find something which is on one map but not on the other. Shade the corresponding area on both maps. Then write in a short description saying what has changed.

Things you might want to look for include:

  • New roads
  • Changes to the railway lines
  • New or demolished factories
  • New or demolished houses
  • New developments such as supermarkets or cinemas
