5. Sources of information
Joe Hughes is now becoming a good landscape detective. He takes his dog on much longer walks and also takes his camera and a map. These make all his walks much more interesting. He is now going to start investigating the land on which his house stands because he has found that it used to be called 'Cae Ysgubor'.
Use your local library to search for landscape history, or the history of farming and agriculture. Many libraries hold much documented information on your local area and the staff will be able to help in your quest. Look for old large scale maps and plans and compare them with later editions.
The books and websites listed are only a small sample of what is available to landscape detectives.
