Shropshire town, 1 mile S of Ironbridge.
Small town in the heart of the clay and iron-working district of the Severn Gorge. Broseley stands outside the Telford New Town area and has remained largely unchanged for many years. Shropshire has quite a collection of nineteenth century children's writers associated with it and one of them, Mrs. Favell Lee Mortimer (1802-1878), lived here for a time at Broseley Hall.
