Places

with literary connections with the West Midlands of England

Introduction

On this website, places appear under one of the five counties that historically has formed the West Midlands before changes to administrative boundaries, particularly prior to local government re-organisations from 1974 onwards. These counties are Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Metropolitan towns and cities therefore appear under their original county e.g. Birmingham in Warwickshire and Wolverhampton in Staffordshire. The following places, and their literary connections, are described on separate pages.
