Shropshire village, 1 mile S of Church Stretton.
The novelist and story writer Beatrice Harraden (1864-1936) used to stay at The Green Dragon, one of two inns in the village, and depicted it in one of her stories.
The best selling novelist Oliver Sandys (1892-1964) lived latterly at The Ancient house across the road from the thatched, half-timbered church.
