Warwickshire village, 8 miles S of Stratford-upon-Avon.
Sir Thomas Overbury (1581-1613) was born at Compton Scorpion Manor, south of the village. The current house is later, with several 18th century additions. There is a commemorative tablet to his father in the Norman church.
