Coalbrookdale


Shropshire town, 1 mile NW of Ironbridge.

At the centre of the ironworking district in Shropshire and often said to be the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.

The novelist and heraldic expert Arthur Charles Fox-Davies (1871-1928) lived at Paradise, Coalbrookdale and was buried at Holy Trinity Parish Church.

Edith Pargeter (1913-1995) attended Coalbrookdale High School for Girls.
